Joe Gale, Fred Conner Win GOP Montco Commissioner's Race

Joe Gale emerged victorious in the primary election Tuesday, but his brother narrowly lost to two other Republicans.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Sitting Republican County Commissioner Joe Gale has made it out of the primary, coming in first in a field of five in the primary election Tuesday.

However, his brother Sean Gale will not be joining him on the ballot in the fall. In a narrow, five-candidate race where a small margin separated the top four, Fred Conner emerged as the second winner.

In the Montgomery County Commissioner's Republican primary, five candidates vied for two spots in the fall's general election.

  • Joe Gale (incumbent): 16,233
  • Fred Conner: 16,114
  • Dean Eisenberger: 14,454
  • Sean Gale: 14,420
  • France W. Krazalkovich: 5,909

Joe Gale, the lone Republican Commissioner currently on the three-person board, ran alongside his brother on an anti-establishment, pro-Trump ticket.

Conner, a Blue Bell native, is a businessman and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in Whitpain Township.

The pair will face off against reigning Democratic Commissioners Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr. and Valerie Arkoosh next fall. The pair comfortably held off a primary challenge from Ray Sosa on Tuesday:

  • Lawrence: 46,841
  • Arkoosh: 48,398
  • Sosa: 9,729
