Round 2 Begins For Montco's Best Pizza Tournament

Voting for round two, the Sweet 16, has opened in Montgomery County Best Pizza Tournament.

The March Madness-style competition is organized by the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board. All told, 64 pizza shops entered. Now, as round two begins, only 32 remain.

The matchups are as follows:

• Giovanni's Pizza - Royersford vs. Johnny's Pizza and Pasta - Spring Mount
• Vince and Friends - East Greenville vs. Sal's Bravo Pizza - Limerick
• Brother's Pizza Harleysville vs. Penny's Pizza in Limerick
• Main Pizza in Collegeville vs. Vinnie's Pizza in Oaks
• Franzone's Pizzeria in Bridgeport vs. Padrino's Pizza in Eagleville
• Famous George's Pizzeria in KOP vs. Angelo's Pizza in KOP
• Via Veneto Pizza in Norristown vs. Carfagno's Main Street Pizza in Eagleville
• Charlie's Pizza - Norristown vs. Vito's Pizza in KOP
• Vino's Pizza in Lafayette Hill vs. Hatboro Pizza in Hatboro
• Toni Roni's Pizza in Willow Grove vs. Vinny's Pizzarama in Hatfield
• Tony's Pizza and Pasta in Plymouth Meeting vs. Randazzo's Pizzeria in Willow Grove
• Tony and Joe's in Conshohocken vs. Graeme Park Pizza in Horsham
• Bravo Pizza in Worcester vs. Steppy's Sports Bar in East Norriton

It's the third year of the tournament, which began in 2016. The defending champion is Chiaro's Pizza, based in Green Lane, which defeated King of Prussia's Angelo's Pizza in the final last year. Bravo Pizza in Worcester and Bacco Italian Restaurant in North Wales also made it to the Final Four.

Chiaro's also won the crown in 2016, but they are not in the mix for the 2018 title.
