Route 23 Bridge Demolition Leads to 422 Travel Restrictions Next Week
Travel restrictions have been put in place next week on Route 422 in the Valley Forge area for the demolition of the Route 23 bridge.

Travel restrictions have been put in place next week on Route 422 in the Valley Forge area for a bridge demolition, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said.
Nighttime lane closures will be in place from Monday, Feb. 13 through Friday, Feb. 17, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The Route 23 bridge will be demolished during this time.

The closures and traffic stoppages will affect the area between Trooper Road and First Avenue in West Norriton and Upper Merion.
Nighttime lane closures will also be in effect during the same time period between Moore Road and Gulph Road.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow additional time for travel on U.S. 422 and Route 23 leading up these areas.
The work schedule is dependent on the weather.
The $97.4 million project to improve bridges over the Schuylkill River and U.S. 422 began in Feb. 2016 and is slated for completion in May 2020.
