Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Philly Area (EXPIRED)

PHILADLEPHIA, PA — A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for several parts of southeastern Pennsylvania as the storm moved through the region Thursday afternoon. It expired at 2 p.m.

The impacted area covered much of Montgomery County, northwestern Philadelphia, and parts of Chester County and eastern Delaware County.

Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

The warning came as an intensified patch of the storm front Thursday swept through the area. Flash flood warnings have been issued in nearby counties as well.

Residents should remain alert for tornado warnings and be prepared to seek shelter. The front could bring up to 60 mile an hour wind gusts with it.

Areas within the warning included Philadelphia, Norristown, Chester, Pottstown, Phoenixville, West Norriton, East Norriton, Yeadon, Conshohocken, Folcroft, Swarthmore, Collegeville, Royersford, Narberth, Trappe, East Lansdowne, Schwenksville, Green Lane, Darby Township, and Morris Park.
