Teen 'Assassin' Game Leads To 911 Calls In Montgomery County

Authorities warn that the game can pose dangers for kids.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Officials around Montgomery County say that a new game popular among teenagers has led to a spur in 911 calls and can be pose potential dangers for kids.

The "senior assassin" game is increasing in popularity, authorities said.

Emergency calls have been placed in Lower Moreland Township and elsewhere about "armed" individuals prowling the streets in relation to the game, police said.

An investigation found that individuals were not actually armed, but were just holding water guns as part of the game.

The game involves students stalking and shooting one another with the water pistols in a form of hide and seek.

"This game is not sanctioned by the school district and has caused concern for members of our community," Lower Moreland Township Police said. "We are urging students not to participate...While we understand this is a game to the participants, its purpose is not known to the general public and could cause alarm."

If students do participate, police urge them not to carry anything that could be mistaken for a real firearm, and do not trespass on private property.
