A group of strangers attacked a 14-year-old boy at the King of Prussia Mall on Friday for no apparent reason, according to reports.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A group of strangers attacked a 14-year-old boy at the King of Prussia Mall on Friday for no apparent reason, according to reports.

The incident occurred on Friday night when the boy was celebrating his birthday with his girlfriend, NBC 10 reports.

The pair were walking through the mall when the group of about seven individuals began to follow them and make threats, reports state.

That's when the group suddenly attacked the boy, punching him and knocking him to the ground, according to NBC.

A man eventually broke up the fight, and the attackers left. Upper Merion police confirmed they were investigating the incident.

“It was really just kind of like showing off I think,” the victim later told NBC. “There was no other reason really to do anything.”
