Firefighters battled a truck fire in Upper Merion on Wednesday morning.

UPPER MERION, PA -- Firefighters battled a truck fire in Upper Merion on Wednesday morning.

The incident was first reported at around 7:15 a.m. on South Gulph Road near Trinity Lane, according to Montgomery County Active Incidents.

6ABC reports that the smoke from the blaze came up onto the Schuylkill Expressway during the morning commute.

South Gulph Road was reportedly shut down as crews battled the blaze.

Heavy, stop and go traffic remained on South Gulph and the nearby ramp from I-76 shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
