Two suspects have been arrested after a shooting outside of a Montgomery County bar.

Two Pottstown residents have been arrested after a robbery and shooting outside of a bar in West Pottsgrove on August 20, the Montgomery County District Attorney said Friday.

Darrell Accoco Johnson, 32, and Latia Lofton, 29, are charged with felony robbery and aggravated assault, among other counts, the DA said.

The incident occurred at about 11:38 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, police said.

The victim, a 48-year-old male, met Lofton near the China Bar on West High Street and the pair went inside and had two drinks, according to an affadavit of probable cause. Eventually, Lofton said "let's go outside and smoke." While they were standing near the victim's car, Johnson approached them with a gun and demanded money and car keys from the man. He also took Lofton's purse, which police later discovered had been pre-planned, court documents show.

"Empty your pockets, old head," Johnson allegedly said to the victim, as he emptied his pockets, according to court documents. "Remember me from back in the day, old head?"

The victim later told police that he was sure Johnson was going to kill him. As Johnson backed away, Gibbons reached for a gun inside the car, and the pair shot at each other several times.

The victim took out a gun and the pair exchanged gunfire, the DA said. Johnson was not injured but he did shoot the victim, a 48-year-old male, several times in the back and the foot, authorities said.

Lofton initially claimed to be a victim as well but an investigation revealed that she had worked with Johnson to plan the heist, the DA said.

Both suspects failed to make bail - $500,000 for Johnson and $250,000 for Lofton - and were taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing has been set for October 4.
