Update Your Resume: New Jobs in Norristown

Check out these resume writing tips, courtesy of Phoenix Management:

1) Reverse Chronological Order

When typing up your job experiences, employers and recruiters like to see what you’ve been up to recently. So having your most recent employment listed first is a plus.

2) The Objective Statement

This statement is becoming obsolete. Instead, include a summary of yourself or a list of your skill set.

3) Keep it short

If possible, keep your resume to 1 page (it's okay to narrow your margins). This will keep everything concise and to the point.

4) Keep it simple

Standard fonts are Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman and keep the size 10-12 point. Unless the position calls for creativity and flare, employers like to see professionalism and simplicity.

5) Contact Information

Nothing is more irritating than finding a well qualified candidate fall short of being hired because the contact information is missing. Include phone numbers, email, and even links to social media you may have.

6) Experience First, Education Second

Unless you are a recent college graduate, your job history or experience should be listed first and then your education after.
