Upper Merion Seeing $953K In Water Main Improvements

The work is part of a $1.9 million initiative to improve water service in Montgomery County, Aqua PA said.

UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Upper Merion Township is getting more than $900,000 in water main improvements, according to Aqua PA.

The water company said the township is seeing $953,000 worth of water main improvements as part of $1.9 million worth of projects in Montgomery County.

In the township, crews are working on an $868,000 project to replace existing 12-inch and 8-inch cast iron water main with 1,400 feet of 8-inch and 2,700 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe, Aqua said.

The project, which is expected to be completed in October, is taking place on the following streets:

  • Allendale Road between 1st Avenue and Elliott Drive;
  • Elliott Drive between Allendale and Anthony roads;
  • and behind 600 and 620 Allendale Road in the right of way

Additionally, crews in Upper Merion Township are working on an $85,000 project to replace an existing 8-inch ductile iron water main with 156 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe, Aqua said.

The work is taking place on Radnor Street Road between Croton Road and Springbrook Lane, with completion expected in September, Aqua said.
