College Student Killed By Car Identified

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday night.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Ursinus College student run over and killed by a vehicle near campus on Thursday night has been identified by school officials.

Michelle Buck, a sophomore, at the school, was most interested in neuroscience and philosophy, Ursinus said.

“It is tragic when we lose a member of the Ursinus family,” President Brock Blomberg stated in a message to campus following the accident. “Please join me in keeping her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. I encourage all of us to find comfort and support in one another during this trying time.”

Her professors remembered her as a “delightful,” ”quiet,” “diligent,” and “respectful” student.

Buck is from Herndon, Virginia.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. near Sixth and Main Street.

The driver and witnesses were cooperating fully with law enforcement, according to 6 ABC.

Dense fog coated the area on Thursday night. It’s unclear if this was a contributing factor in the accident.

“We are saddened to report this evening’s fatal accident involved an Ursinus student. More details to come,” Ursinus said in a message on Twitter..

Main Street is a notoriously dangerous street on campus, as it divides the school from much of the off-campus student housing.

As recently as November 10, another pedestrian was struck while crossing Main Street.

Ursinus was in the midst of finishing final exams on Thursday.
