Valley Forge Casino Touts New Green Initiatives
Valley Forge Casino is making an effort to "go green," as they said they are improving their air quality and energy efficiency.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA -- Valley Forge Casino is making an effort to "go green," as they said they are improving their air quality and energy efficiency.
They announced Tuesday that they have committed themselves to a multi-year strategy to reduce material impacts on the environment.
“Environmental stewardship is a prime focus for Valley Forge Casino Resort,” said President and CEO Eric Pearson, in a statement. “Our sustainability strategy supports our business goals and represents our promise to be responsible to the environment for our employees, our guests and our community.”

New air handling systems will replace stale air inside the casino with fresh air at a rate of 16 times an hour, officials said.

- Optimization of HVAC and controls throughout the facility complex
- Upgrading LED lighting in selected areas and implementing convention center lighting to reduce energy usage and related maintenance
- Make-up air and kitchen exhaust optimization to improve the ventilation system performance
- Implementing an Ozone laundry system to replace many of the chemicals normally used in a traditional washing process
- Installing controls on cold drink vending machines to manage power used to light and cool them
- Implementing energy monitoring/usage systems and processes to improve the efficiency of the complex’s existing equipment and systems
The changes are expected to result in $430,000 in energy and maintenance savings ever year, the casino said.
