Victim Of Morning Crash In Montgomery County Dies: Police

The driver of a truck has died after a serious crash early Thursday morning in Lower Providence Township.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — The driver of a truck has died after a serious crash early Thursday that left many area residents without power.

The victim, Jeremy Marquette, 44, of Leesport, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, authorities said. Earlier reports which stated he had survived the crash were incorrect.

The incident occurred at 3 a.m. on the 500 block of South Park Avenue when Marquette lost control of his truck, which was carrying milk, and crashed into a pole, leading to downed wires in the area.

South Park Avenue was closed for much of the day as cleanup and an investigation commenced. It did not reopen until around 7:30 p.m. Methacton School District buses were unable to make it to certain stops due to the closure.

It's not yet known what led Marquette to lose control of the truck.
