(VIDEO) Norristown Crews Battle Residential Fire Wednesday

Flames boiled out of a second story window as firefighters approached a home in West Norriton Wednesday.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Crews from surrounding municipalities battled a house fire in West Norriton on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident was first reported at 4:05 p.m. near the intersection of Avondale Road and Pembrooke Road, according to authorities.

Jefferson Fire Company and the Norristown Fire Department were on the scene.

Flames were boiling out of the second floor window as crews arrived on the scene. An American flag hung on the porch just under the flames as firefighters entered the dwelling.

It's not yet clear what started the blaze.
