Water Main To Be Installed In King Of Prussia, Route 202 Lane Closures Planned
It's part of the ongoing sinkhole remediation effort by the state in an area that has seen countless issues in recent years.
UPPER MERION, PA — Renewed efforts to end the sinkhole crisis in along Route 202 in King of Prussia are continuing this winter.
PA American Water crews are installing a new water main along the southbound stretch of road between Saulin Boulevard and Henderson Pike, where sinkholes have caused dozens of road closures and water issues in recent years.
The work will shut down a lane of the road on week nights, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., through late February.

The $22.4 million remediation project began in the area last year.
Northbound lanes of the road were shut down for months as crews repaired and reconstructed the roadway, including a "limited mobility grouting program" which involves drilling a series of holes in the pavement in a grid pattern and then filling them with pressurized grout.

Grout, a mixture of cement, water, and sand, is thought to stabilize the ground immediately beneath the pavement.
Crews are also working on drainage improvements and pavement reconstruction.
Route 202 southbound will also be shut down for similar work at some point this spring.
