North Allegheny and Pine-Richland Students "Interrogate" Pitt Law Students

Law workshop provides information about various careers in law and the law school experience.

After school, on a beautiful day in April, a group of high school students from North Allegheny and Pine Richland School Districts met outside the School of Law at the University of Pittsburgh to attend Business and Education Connected’s Law Careers Workshop.   Led by the Director of Admissions at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law, Alexandra Linsenmeyer, the students were provided with abundant and valuable information about law school and law careers.  Rochelle McCain, Esq., Director of Public Interest & Government Relations at the School of Law, engaged the students with her experiences working as an attorney and the interesting path that led her to pursue her career in law.  Mrs. Linsemeyer enlightened the students with information about the admissions process,  the LSAT exam, and various programs the School of Law offers.  The highlight of the workshop was the panel of law students that Mrs. Linsemeyer arranged to meet with the high school students.  The law students shared their individual stories about their paths to Pitt Law and their future ambitions.  It was exciting to absorb the variety of their experiences, both foreign and domestic, that the law students were involved in during their course of studies and internships.  The workshop concluded with small group tours through the Pitt Law building led by the law students.  The court room on the lower level used for Mock Trials, assemblies, and other attorney practices was stunning.  The tour allowed additional time with the law student which the high school students found invaluable.
