Young Pittsburgh-Area Bicyclist Struck By Box Truck

PITTSBURGH, PA — A 4-year-old girl was injured Wednesday after she was struck by a box truck in West Homestead just outside of the city.
According to Allegheny County Police, 911 was notified of the incident at around 4:30 p.m. The girl apparently lost control of her bike, struck a parked vehicle and then was struck by the truck.
The incident occurred near the intersection of West 8th Avenue and Neel Street.

The vehicle operator remained on the scene.
The child was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital. Her condition was unknown as of Thursday morning.
