1. Run For the Wounded Warrior
When/Where: 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at North Park, Allison Park.

Why Go:Â The Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative is sponsoring the annual 5K/5Mile Run/Walk at the Boathouse. Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the National Association on Disability.

2. Square Dance
When/Where: 8 to 11Â p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center, Franklin Park.Â
Why Go: Grab your partner and dosey-doh the night away even if you do not know how to square dance. The caller will lead everyone through. Open to everyone.Â
Admission:Â $7.50 per person. Register.

3. Vendor Craft Show
When/Where:Â 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at West View Elementary School.Â
Why Go: Check out lots of crafty creations just in time for the holidays.Â

4. Trick or Treating
When/Where:Â 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 in the North Allegheny communities (Franklin Park included.)Â
Why Go: Don't let superstorm Sandy cause you to miss all the tasty treats being passed out in the neighborhood this year.Â

5. St. James Parish Music Plus Series
When/Where:Â 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at the St. James Parish, Sewickley.
Why Go: This month's concert series features the Down by the Wayside Choir, from Louisville, KY. A pre-concert recital will be held from 2:30 to 2:50 p.m. featuring String Students of Joyce Wohlgemuth and Younga Reitz. Refreshments to be served.Â
Admission:Â Free. A free-will offering will be collected to support the choir's mission to serve the homeless and the addicted.Â

6. 2012 PGH Pet ExpoÂ
 When/Where: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Why Go: AÂ one-stop venue for pet products and services in addition to more than 100 exhibits, entertainment and hands-on attractions covering almost 2 acres of indoor space for the entire family, including your four-legged family members.
Admission:Â $8 adults; $7 seniors (55+) and military; Kids 12 and under free.Â
