Leaf Collection, Brush Chipping Begins Monday in Franklin Park

Fall leaf collection begins at 6 a.m. and brush must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m.

Fall leaf collection begins at 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 in Franklin Park.

Leaf collection will continue on Mondays only through Nov. 26.

According to the borough, all bags must be placed at the curb and pick up will begin at 6 a.m. The borough will only collect leaves in biodegradable paper bags. Do not put rocks, sticks, plastic bottles or other such items in the bags. as they will contaminate the mulch. Also, do not close bags with duct tape, which is not biodegradable and cannot be used.

Leave enough room at the top of the bag so you can either fold or roll the bag closed.

Biodegradable bags are available at the municipal building afor 40¢ each or you may purchase them at retail stores.

Brush chipping season

Brush chipping also begins Monday, Nov. 5, when all residents must have their brush placed at the curb by 7 a.m. 

The chipper will pass through the borough one time and may take one or two weeks to service all areas of the borough depending on the amount of brush placed at the curb.

Specific dates cannot be provided but the borough will get to your area as soon as possible.  

Brush should be cut and placed perpendicular to the curb butt end out. This service is provided for brush and tree trimmings only.

No thorn bushes will be accepted. If you have a tree or trees to dispose of, contact a private contractor. Borough crews will not spend more than 15 minutes of chipping brush per home.
