Reopening of Peebles Road Delayed (Again)

The road has been closed between Hemlock Drive and Presidential Drive since Nov. 27.

A project to improve drainage on a section of Peebles Road in McCandless is taking longer than first anticipated.

PennDOT had hoped to have Peebles between Hemlock Drive and Presidential Drive reopened by early Janaury. Then the date was moved to the end of January. Now, the road will remain closed through Feb. 15, a PennDOT statement said Thursday.

A detour is posted. Click on "view larger map" for an interactive look at the closure, and recommended detours. The red line indicates the portion of the road which is closed and the green line is PennDOT's suggested detour.
