Spend an evening with John
Hayes, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Outdoors Editor (“the guy with the hat”)
who writes with great enthusiasm about hunting, fishing, boating, wildlife,
stream management and the opportunities we have to enjoy our environment as
well as the responsibilities to preserve and protect what nature offers
us.
Mr. Hayes will give a short presentation about the serious problem of
invasive algae called didymo that is threatening the economic health of our
waterways as it spreads and chokes out organisms that live on stream bottoms,
limiting the food that fish require. After his presentation, he’ll answer your
questions about any outdoor subject and may change your mind about several
environmental issues. Whether or not you fish, hunt or boat, you’ll enjoy his
outlook, his stories and his concern for all of the great outdoors. Please
