TUESDAY
NIGHT BOOK DISCUSSION
Northland
Library’s Tuesday Night Book Group will discuss Quiet: The Power of
Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. Cain argues
that we dramatically undervalue introverts and shows how much we lose in doing
so. She charts the rise of the "Extrovert Ideal" and explores how
deeply it has come to permeate our culture. She also introduces us to
successful introverts and explains why introverts are a force to be reckoned
with.
Our picks for November, December, and
January are, in order, The Oath: The Obama White House and the Supreme Court
by Jeffrey Toobin; The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the
Real Count of Monte Cristo by Tom Reiss; and Short Nights of the Shadow
Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis by Timothy
Egan.
