$636M Mega Millions Jackpot Split Between Two Winners

There were two winning tickets in Tuesday's drawing for a $636 million Mega Millions jackpot -- and unfortunately, none of us were among the winners.

The winning tickets were sold in California and Georgia, Mega Millions said.

Tuesday's was the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history -- the largest was $656 million, split between three winning tickets in March 2012 -- but because there were fewer winning tickets this time, the winners will take home more prize money than did the winners in 2012.

Mega Millions, a multi-state lottery game, is drawn on Tuesday and Friday nights.
