Airplane Piece Found On Northampton Twp. Yard
Northampton Township Police said a Farm House Lane resident saw something in their grass. The FAA confirmed it was a plane piece.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Most residents never think something is going to fall from the sky.
So imagine a township Farm House Lane resident's surprise when they came across something in their yard —a piece of an airplane.
The Northampton Township Police Department said they handled the suspicious incident on Sept. 13 in which a resident reported some property that was found.

The resident told police they found what they believed was a piece of an airplane impaled in the grass of their yard.
The resident had removed the object when police officers arrived at the home.

Police contacted the Federal Aviation Administration to check for any reports of damaged airplanes or gliders in the area.
The FAA requested photos of the object, which police sent them.
The FAA confirmed that it did, in fact, appear to be a piece of an airplane and they would be out to pick it up from our headquarters.
Police did not provide any more details about what was found or how the piece found its way from the airplane to the yard.
