Police Department Marks End of Year Success

From Chief Barry Pilla: Although tactics and strategies are important elements to their success, I feel that of equal importance is the commitment of our officers and the cooperative partnership that we have with our extremely supportive community. The Police Department employs a number of tactics to address crime and quality of life issues across the Township.  The evaluation their calls-for-service helps the Command staff provide officers with specific assignments to address an identified problem. The department also employs Public Service Messages [PSM] to educate and inform the members of the community of concerns and methods to address them. Northampton Township is a caring, involved, community with a successful community-police partnership that is resourceful and shares information leading to a successful quality of life and a 60 percent reduction in the number of Part I & Part II crimes across Northampton Township over the past 10 years.
