The 2012 June Fete Village Fair and Horse & Pony Show

Under sunny skies and gentle northwest breezes, The 99th Annual June Fete Village Fair and Horse & Pony Show swung open its gates on Friday, June 8, 2012 to near record crowds.  This three-day event for the benefit of Abington Health has long been a mecca for young and old alike who are seeking to kick off summer with good, old-fashioned fun, food and frolic.  A spectacular fireworks display awed fairgoers on Friday night.  On Saturday, they were treated to the June Fete Horse & Pony Show, which once again boasted the $5000 Dixon Hunter Derby.  Throughout the weekend, there were lots of smiling faces and plenty of squeals of joy as kids took pleasure in the amusement rides, the “Princesses and Pirates Tea”, and face painting, crafts and games in the Kids Korner.  Adults enjoyed a broad range of entertainment provided by a variety of jazz bands, dance groups, and singers.  Everyone took advantage of the great food offered in the Refreshment Tent as well as at the myriad booths which served up everything from omelets to pizza to ice cream, candy and baked goods for the sweet tooth.  With a nod to the good old days, The June Fete once again delivered on a fun-filled weekend for families to savor.
