Angel Tree Up In Northampton, Gifts Needed

Help a local family in need by purchasing a gift from the Angel Tree this holiday season.

The Angel Tree Project is underway and needs your help.

The project, coordinated by Council Rock School District nurses and volunteer Paul Salvatore, helps to grant holiday “wishes” for local families in need. The wishes— or gift requests—of local children and their families are placed on a tag that looks like an angel. Those tags are hung on Christmas trees, which are located at the Newtown Post Office and the Northampton Library.

To help, simply pick up a tag at the Newtown Post Office or Northampton Library and purchase the requested item.

The families are not identified by name for the purposes of confidentiality. There’s a number on the tag that identifies the recipient. Families involved in the program are selected based on their participation in the school lunch program.

Gifts, which should be wrapped and include the original tag, can be returned back to the location where the tag was selected. This year, the gifts should be returned by Friday, Dec. 11. The gifts will be delivered on Monday, Dec. 14.
