Annual Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Held Today

December 2, 2023 at Union Cemetery, Richboro, PA .

At the end of this article there is a link to the YouTube video of the Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission’s 2022 Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Ceremony honoring First Responders and Military laid to rest at the Union Cemetery located 209 Almshouse Rd., Richboro, PA. The event took place under cloudy skies at 11:00AM December 2nd with close to 200 people in attendance.

Members of the Northampton Township Police, Fire and EMS attended with special vehicles on display.

The 20 minute ceremony was well attended and was emceed by Thomas Yaegel. The Colors were posted by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230, the Anthem was sung by Lisa Garner, bagpiper was Jim Rembisz and keynote speaker was Tri-Hampton Rescue Chief Jason Dowd.

The wreaths were placed at the headstones marked with an American flag. Special acknowledgements to the Veterans Advisory Commission, Northampton Supervisors and Public Works employees Rich Sweeten and Patrick Johnson who helped make the event possible. Here is a link to the video.
