Authority Responds to Accusations

The Municipal Authority posted a statement today that claims recent accusations against the Authority are not true.

The Municipal Authority posted a statement on their website today that responds to the accusations that they, along with other township officials, constructed a with a developer for a future project.

The statement calls them "false allegations," and lists facts from the record about the Leehurst Farm tract and agreement with Toll Brothers.

  • The current pumping station serves 356 homes
  • There is a pre-existing issue with the pumping station, which the Authority has the responsibility to maintain
  • To be fixed, the pumping station requires an upgrade ($880,000) and construction of a new force main ($1.6M)
  • The new Toll Brothers subdivision would become about 10 percent of the pumping station's total workload. 
  • Toll Brothers agreed to pay for the entire $880,000 upgrade and build entire infrastructure for water and sewer within development
  • The Authority agreed to give Toll Brothers a $100,000 credit because of their offer to pay for the upgrade
