Council Rock Narrows Down Search For Next Superintendent

Council Rock’s search for the next superintendent is moving onto the next phase, with a district tour and community forum scheduled for one prospective candidate.

An assistant superintendent from Chester County has been invited to tour Council Rock schools and meet with parents and employees next week, the district announced in an email.

The Council Rock School Board extended the invitation to Dr. Robert Fraser, the assistant superintendent at West Chester Area School District, as part of the search process for the district’s next superintendent. He will tour the district on March 17.

Additionally, Dr. Fraser will be at a community forum on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Council Rock High School South.

The district is seeking input from the community and questions can be submitted through a designated website by clicking here.

Questions to be addressed at the forum can be submitted through the website until March 22 at 4 p.m.

Fraser has been the assistant superintendent at West Chester Area School District since August 2013. Before that, he was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at West Chester Area School District, which has 11, 600 students.

From July 2004 to December 2008, Fraser was a middle school principal at Fred S. Engle Middle School in the Avon Grove School District.

He has also served as a classroom teacher in Frederick County Public Schools and Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland.

Current Superintendent Mark Klein has announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2015 academic year. Klein has served as the district’s superintendent since 2004.
