Council Rock South Mourns Passing Of 11th-Grade Student

The Council Rock community is morning the passing of an 11th grade South student.

Kiernan Timoney passed away Monday, school principal Albert Funk said in an email. The cause of his death was not released.

Funk said Kiernan was a "friend to many, an outstanding student, and a member of South’s athletic teams."

A school-wide moment of silence was held Tuesday in honor of Kiernan’s memory.

District officials said counseling and support services will be provided for students and staff.

"Please hold the Timoney family close to your heart, and in your thoughts, during this most difficult time," Funk said.
