The South Vocal Ensemble of Council Rock High School South performed for the First Lady on Dec. 2, the school district announced.

Council Rock High School South’s vocal ensemble had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity last week.
The group performed privately for First Lady Michelle Obama on Dec. 2.
The students were scheduled to sing during a private reception in the Grand Foyer of the White House. To their surprise, they were then selected to meet and sing privately for First Lady Michelle Obama.

According to a Facebook post by Council Rock School District, the choir was asked to sing another hour’s worth of music for the guests of the party, “who at times were singing along, dancing, or tearing up when the group performed God Bless America.”
Student Corey Axler said: “It was an experience we will never forget. We were truly honored to have been given this opportunity.”
