CPCU/Council Rock Fire Safety Awards Presentation Dec. 19th

12 Winners to receive commendations at Northampton Supervisors meeting

The winners of the 35th annual CPCU Fire Safety in The Home Contest co-sponsored with the Council Rock School Board will receive their prize awards and special commendations at the December 19th Northampton Township Board of Supervisors meeting.

Elementary school students in the Council Rock schools were invited to write essays or create posters on the subject of fire safety during National Fire Prevention Week, October 7th - 13th. Each school in the district submitted its top entrants for the final judging. The panel of judges was comprised of School Board Director Joseph Hidalgo, Northampton Township Fire Marshal Frank Fenton and former Northampton Township Supervisor Pete Palestina, CPCU who is the coordinator of the contest for the CPCU organization.

The awards will take place in the township’s public meeting room, 55 Township Road, Richboro at 7:30 p.m,. In addition to the CPCU Society awards the Townships will present special citations of recognition. Expected to be on hand, or represented with proclamations or citations, are State Senator Tommy Tomlinson, State Representative Perry Warren and Representative Elect Wendi Thomas, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick and Newtown Township Supervisors Chairman Phil Callabro. Council Rock School Board Director Joseph Hidalgo will also take part in the ceremony and announce each winner as they come up to receive their awards and citations.

A preview of some of the citations are shown in the photos. The public is invited to attend along with the 12 winners and their families.
