Fire Safety contest winners will be receiving special citations

The 12 winners of the CPCU/Council Rock 2017 Fire Safety contest winners will be receiving special citations 7:30PM at Wednesday’s Northampton Township Board of Supervisors meeting. Citations will be presented for the Congress, municipalities and State House and Senate. Presenters will be Supervisor Chairman Barry Moore for Northampton Township, Kyle Davis, Newtown Township Supervisors Chairman for Newtown Township and Mayor Charles Swartz for Newtown Borough, Representative Perry Warren will present for himself and Representative Scott Petri and State Senator Tommy Tomlinson will present for himself and Senator Charles McIlhinney. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick is expected to present for the U.S. Congress.

This is the 34th year that the winners have been honored at the municipal level by the Philadelphia CPCU Chapter and elected officials in which the winners reside. The 12 winners were selected from hundreds of entries submitted from Council Rock elementary schools. The students created their entries during National Fire Prevention Week in October and each school submitted their best entries to the judges for final selection of the 12 winners.
