Drug Arrest, Fraud Case, 4 Crashes: Northampton Township Police Log
Police responded to the following incidents between March 23 and March 29 in the township.

RICHBORO, PA — Northampton Township Police reported a drug-related arrest, a fraud investigation, and four traffic accidents in the department’s weekly incident log covering March 23 through March 29.
The report also included a found dog that was reunited with its owner, a pedestrian stop, and a summary of other calls handled by police.
On March 29, patrol responded to a parking lot in the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike for a report of a driver slumped over in the driver’s seat, according to the police report. Police reported that officers located the vehicle and, during the investigation, found drugs inside. The driver was taken into custody for drug-related offenses.

Police also reported a fraud complaint on March 27 after a resident came to the station and said a check from a bank had arrived in the mail. According to the report, further review showed that an unknown individual used the resident’s information to open an account. The account showed several Zelle transactions, according to the document, and the case has been assigned to detectives.
Traffic accidents made up much of the week’s log. On March 23, patrol responded to 2nd Street Pike and East Bristol Road, where police reported that a southbound vehicle attempting to turn left onto East Bristol Road struck a northbound vehicle on 2nd Street Pike. A tow was required.

On March 25, police responded to Newtown-Richboro Road and St. Leonards Road. The report states that a vehicle stopped at the stop sign on St. Leonards Road and attempted to turn left onto Newtown-Richboro Road when it struck an eastbound vehicle. A tow was required.
Another crash was reported March 26 at 2nd Street Pike and Sackettsford Road. According to the report, a vehicle on Sackettsford Road was attempting to turn onto 2nd Street Pike when it struck a southbound vehicle. A tow was not required.
Police reported a fourth crash on March 29 at Bustleton Pike and Knowles Avenue. According to the report, a vehicle on Knowles Avenue was attempting to turn onto Bustleton Pike and caused another vehicle to swerve off the roadway to avoid a collision. That vehicle then struck a fixed object off the roadway, and a tow was required.
Elsewhere in the log, patrol responded March 24 to Spencer Road for a found dog, which was reunited with its owner. On March 28 at about 1:48 a.m., patrol observed an individual wearing dark clothing near 2nd Street Pike and Daisy Lane, made contact, and identified the person. Police reported no issues were found.
During the tour, patrol handled 12 alarm calls, 10 abandoned 911 calls, 39 medical emergencies, 8 bookings, 3 domestic disputes, 7 civil disputes, 89 traffic monitoring details and 21 crime prevention details.
