DUI Arrest, Fraud, Traffic Accidents: Northampton Township Police Report
Police reported the following incidents and arrests between March 2 and 8 in the township.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests March 2 and 8.
On March 2, community relations officers took part in “Read Across America Day.” They read to students at several elementary schools across the township.
Fraud incidents were reported on March 3 and 4. On March 3, a resident told police they received an overdraft notification from a bank where they did not have an account. When police spoke to the financial institution, it was learned that an unknown person had used the information to open an account and conduct transactions. Detectives were assigned to the case.

On March 4, a resident reported a pending transaction they did not authorize. The financial institution was contacted and agreed to credit the account while investigating the fraud.
Patrol responded to two traffic accidents. On March 5, a traffic accident happened in a parking lot in the 800 block of Bustleton Pike. A vehicle backing out of a parking space struck a parked vehicle. No tow was required. On March 6, police responded to Newtown-Richboro Road at St. Leonards Road for a traffic accident. A vehicle entering Newtown-Richboro Road from St. Leonards Road struck another vehicle traveling eastbound. A tow was required for this incident.

On March 7, police responded to 2nd Street Pike regarding a juvenile riding an e-bike. The rider was located, and police spoke with the juvenile. A parent was contacted to pick up the e-bike.
On March 8, patrol initiated a traffic stop at Tanyard Road and Friesland Drive for a motor vehicle violation. During the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
During this period, patrol also handled 11 alarm calls, 9 abandoned 911 calls, 42 medical emergencies, 4 bookings, 5 domestic disputes, 7 civil disputes, 75 traffic monitoring details, and 20 crime prevention details.
