DUI Arrest, Multiple Accidents: Northampton Township Crime Report

Police in Northampton Township handled a variety of incidents including a DUI arrest, traffic accidents, and road hazards.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported a DUI arrest and multiple traffic accidents in early February. Officers responded to a disabled vehicle, road hazards, and various other calls for service.

On Feb. 8, police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Hatboro Road for a motor vehicle violation. During a subsequent investigation, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police also responded to several traffic accidents. On Feb. 4, patrol responded to an accident at Bustleton Pike and Elm Avenue, where one unit made struck another while turning left. On Feb. 5, an accident occurred in a parking lot in the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike when a vehicle was backing out of a space and struck a parked vehicle. Another parking lot accident in the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike was reported on Feb. 6, involving a car hitting a stopped unit. No tow was required for these incidents.

On Feb. 7, officers responded to the 1400 block of Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. In this incident, a vehicle traveling on Jacksonville Road stopped due to a vehicle backing out of a driveway. The driver was unable to stop in time and struck a mailbox. A tow was required for the vehicle.

Other incidents included a disabled vehicle on Feb. 2, when patrol responded to Hatboro Road and West Bristol Road. Officers found a vehicle stuck in the snow and contacted a tow company for assistance. On Feb. 3, a road hazard was reported at East Holland Road and Buck Road. Patrol located and removed debris from the roadway.

During this period, Northampton Township Police handled 21 alarm calls, 11 abandoned 911 calls, 37 medical emergencies, 10 bookings, 4 domestic disputes, 10 civil disputes, 81 traffic monitoring details, and 15 crime prevention details.
