DUI Arrests, Mill Race Inn Fire: Northampton Township Police Report

Officers responded to a range of calls including two driving under the influence arrests, a fire, and various traffic accidents.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department has released its activity report for the period of March 9 through 15. The summary details a variety of calls handled by patrol officers throughout the township during the week.

Among the reported incidents were two arrests related to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The first arrest occurred following a traffic stop in the area of Almshouse Road and Spencer Road on March 13. A second arrest took place following a traffic stop near Buck Road and Thoroughbred Drive on March 14, initiated due to a vehicle violation.

In addition to the arrests, officers responded to a fire at the shuttered Mill Race Inn in the 100 block of Buck Road on March 15. The cause of the fire was incendiary in nature and remains under investigation by police and fire officials. Police have identified two juveniles as suspects in the fire and are looking for a third.

Traffic accidents also required police attention during the week. On March 10, officers responded to the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a collision between two vehicles in a parking lot. No tow was required for that incident.

A second accident occurred on March 14 in the area of Chinquapin Road, where a vehicle left the roadway and struck private property. That incident required a tow.

Other calls for service included a report of dogs running loose on Bluebird Road on March 9. Officers located the animals and returned them to their residence, issuing a violation to the owner.

On March 11, officers checked on a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Buck Road at 4 a.m. The driver told officers they had pulled into the lot to rest. No issues were observed, and the driver left the area.

On March 12, officers checked a residence on Jacksonville Road regarding a report of an open door. Officers found everything to be in order at the property.

The weekly summary also included data on broader service calls. During the tour, patrol handled 19 alarm calls, 15 abandoned 911 calls, and 44 medical emergencies.

Additionally, police managed seven bookings, four domestic disputes, 10 civil disputes, 82 traffic monitoring details, and 10 crime prevention details.
