DUI, Warrant And Drug Arrests: Northampton Township Police Report

Reckless driver taken into custody for suspected DUI; driver arrested and charged with drug-related offenses following traffic stop.

RICHBORO, PA — Northampton Township police reported a DUI arrest, a warrant arrest and a drug-related arrest in the department’s blotter covering May 18 through May 24. The weekly report also included a fraud complaint, two traffic accidents, a shed fire, a downed tree on wires and an assist to another police department after a crash.

On May 18, patrol responded to Churchville Lane for a reported shed fire. Police reported that patrol observed the incident when officers arrived, and the Northampton Township Fire Department came to the scene and extinguished the fire.

On May 19, patrol responded to the 300 block of Middle Holland Road, where police reported that a driver swerved to avoid an animal entering the roadway and struck a curb. On May 21, an officer on patrol came upon a crash on 2nd Street Pike near Bustleton Pike. Police reported that one vehicle was exiting a parking lot to travel northbound on 2nd Street Pike and struck a vehicle traveling southbound. Tow was not required.

Police also reported a road hazard on May 20 in the 1300 block of Old Jacksonville Road. According to the report, patrol found a tree had fallen onto wires, and the roadway was temporarily blocked until PECO arrived and secured the wires.

A fraud complaint was reported May 22. According to police, a resident told police they had listed an item for sale on Facebook and received a message from someone claiming interest and saying payment would be made through PayPal. The resident told police they later received an email that appeared to be from PayPal and then discovered the account had been accessed without authorization. Information was gathered and the case was assigned to detectives.

Also on May 22, patrol responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Kings Lane for a report of a reckless driver. According to police, officers observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police also reported a traffic stop on 2nd Street Pike for an equipment violation that resulted in a driver being taken into custody on an active arrest warrant.

On May 23, patrol initiated another traffic stop at Buck Road and Holland Road for an equipment violation. According to police, drugs were found inside the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody for drug-related offenses.

During the tour, police also handled 17 alarm calls, 19 abandoned 911 calls, 36 medical emergencies, seven bookings, four domestic disputes, four civil disputes, 78 traffic monitoring details and 16 crime prevention details.
