In a letter to parents, Council Rock School District Superintendent Mark Klein addressed concerns about the spread of Enterovirus D68.

Parent concerns over how local schools are working to prevent the spread of Enterovirus D68 has prompted Council Rock School District Superintendent Mark Klein to distribute a letter highlighting precautions that are being taken to keep students healthy this year.

Those precautions include following cleaning protocols each night, including disinfecting all surfaces, and intermittent spot checks with cleaning staff to ensure proper procedures are being followed.

Additionally, school nurses meet regularly to discuss health-related issues and any intervention necessary needed to protect students and staff.

“To best ensure the health and safety of your child and other children in school, we continue to ask for your help in keeping your child home when he/she has a fever or other acute respiratory symptoms that are not allergy related,” the letter to parents said.
