Firefighters Knock Down Fiery Crash In Northampton

Crews responded to several emergencies, including a serious traffic accident with fire at Rock Way and the Newtown-Richboro Road.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A fiery crash and a search for a vehicle that reportedly plunged into the Neshaminy Creek kept firefighters in Northampton Township busy on Tuesday.

After starting the day with training and familiarizing themselves with the operations of their ambulance chassis, crews responded to several emergencies, including a serious traffic accident with fire at Rock Way and the Newtown-Richboro Road.

The accident blocked traffic on Route 332 for several hours as crews put out the fire by using hand lines and then cleaned up roadway hazards and debris left by the crash.

Firefighters also investigated the source of an unknown odor inside a structure, checked on a possible electrical fire inside a structure, and responded to a report of a vehicle in the water along the Neshaminy Creek.

The firefighters did not say whether a car was found in the creek or if there were any injuries in the crash at Rock Way.
