Village Renaissance adds Interactive Childrens Performer
Pirates meet seacreatures Sept 17 & 18 at the 17th Village Renaissance Faire on the donated Middletown Grange Fairgrounds. ArtyPantz Storytelling, Percussions, & Puppetry joins the faire and continues the expansion of childrens shows by blending story, music, and theatre to involve and entertain. Artist Victoria O’Neill has been bringing diverse people together with the arts for many years. She is an artist of many mediums, starting as an art teacher for various Montessori schools, then creating ArtyPantz Productions offering 100% interactive theatrical storytelling events. A perfect blend for the ultimate family renaissance faire reputation earned by the Village Faire. Her shows feature her own stories, and her own beautifully designed costumes, props, hand held puppets asd well as large tambourines. Everyone participates! Over 26,000 people have participated in the shows since 2004.
Two out of six of the stories are perfect for the faire. The Capture and Return of Bald Beatrice the Baby Mermaid, and the “sea”quel Admiral Giddy-up and the Seahorse Brigade to the Rescue. The shows feature mermaid tails, fish and seahorses are made with lush vintage tapestries and other unique fabrics. Characters include Too Much, Give a Dime and Captain Too Bad (humans), Mermaid tails, fish and seahorses made with lush vintage tapestries and other unique fabrics. Characters are as fun as their names, including Too Much, Give a Dime and Captain Too Bad (humans). Mermaid Families, Tina Tuna and other Fish puppets, Octopus Twins, Seahorses (Security) hungry shark puppets, marauding pirates and more come to be part of the show to tell the hilarious, rip roaring and rollicking tales.
“People have been telling me for years that these two shows belong at The Renaissance Faire.” says Victoria who is originally from California and thought they meant the one in San Francisco.
“I was so excited to learn about the Renaissance Faire in Wrightstown, just one county away from where I live in Phoenixville, Chester County PA. I love, support and perform at libraries all the time. As a young child my large family moved frequently. The first thing my mother would do when we got to a new house was take all six of us kids to the library to get a card.
