Mets Win Spring-Summer James E. Kinney Senior Center Billiards Championship

Team Mets won the Spring-Summer League Billiards Championship on September 17th during the tournament held at the James E. Kinney Senior Center.

The Mets were captained by Fred Brandkamp and beat the Yankees captained by Brandon Byers in the final best of three round winning 2-1.

League Commissioner Pete Palestina said the regular season league play started on April 23rd and concluded September 17th after 75 games were played by each team prior to the playoffs for the championship. A total of 6 teams made up the league with 3 to 4 players assigned to each team.

Shown in the 3 person photo are Mets team members (l-R) Jim McGee, Pat Brandkamp and Team Captain Fred Brandkamp. In the group photo are League Commissioner Pete Palestina with the two finalist teams Mets and Yankees. In the Collage are several players who participated in the tournament.

The Fall-Winter league will begin play on September 24th and players had until September 17th to sign up. The league plays on Mondays unless there is a holiday closing in which case the games that week will be played on a Tuesday.
