Legendary--the Village Faire has become so and so have local actors

Over the years the Village players have trained hundreds of players to bring a welcomign abckdrop to the Faire as you enter the gates, and this year is no different. Although they are only part of over 50 performing groups, they are fun, interactive and worthy a stop along the faireways.

THE LEGEND

Our own Library-trained Village Players, who have welcomed all within their fabric of performances, will greet attendees as they enter the Faire in our gaming glen. This year’s players story is aptly named the legend--- symbolic of the grassroots effort that has not only created the players but the entire faire. Unlike other ensemble players, our Village Players welcome and include everyone to participate and enjoy a meaningful role. But you would never know it. So impressed by his cast, Faire Director Hone, dares attendees to distinguish between this community trained, all inclusive cast, from the rest of the faire. … He doubts you can…. And that’s what most unique about our faire. So whether you try to become a late member to the cast, as Hone says anything is possible, or just venture to the faire and become involved as the audience always does, you will see, can be part of the show.

This year, as the Saxons practice their treachery, Faire goers can also take part in THE LEGEND, the Village Players tenth storyline, inspired by Ridley Scott’s 1985 film. The Legend is inspired by fairy tales of old, when fables were told by storytellers before reading and writing became widespread. The ancient Lord of Darkness laments his isolation in the shadows and conspires with his goblins to steal the Power of Light. Princess Lili and her friend Jack, a forest dweller, unwittingly witness Darkness’s bid for domination. Lili is captured by the goblins along with the Power of Light and dragged into Darkness. Can Jack, with the help of the forest elves, save Lili from Darkness before he destroys the Power of Light and plunges the world into despair?

16th Annual Village Renaissance Faire

Come see the event that earned a 2013 visit from Renaissance Magazine.... Support the public library & have fun too! Its an authentic, affordable, and local Renaissance Faire with a CAUSE----ALL proceeds goto the public library. This all volunteer community event attracted over 9,000 in one weekend last year. Please come join us. An event for all ages and affordable to all.
