Northampton, Bucks County, Municipal Authority Awarded $496,000 Small Water & Sewer Grant

The Northampton, Bucks County, Municipal Authority (NBCMA) has been awarded approximately $496,000 through the Small Water & Sewer Grant Program administered by the Commonwealth Finance Agency (CFA). NBCMA was notified of the award through the office of Pennsylvania Senator Frank Farry.

The grant funding will be used to line sewer laterals in areas where NBCMA has previously completed sewer main lining. The work of lining sewer laterals means repairing the small sewer pipes that connect individual homes or buildings to the main sewer line from the inside, without digging them up. This work advances NBCMA’s proactive approach to removing inflow and infiltration from the sewer system, improving efficiency, and reducing long-term operating costs.

“This investment allows us to build upon prior infrastructure improvements and maximize their impact,” said Mike Sullivan, NBCMA Executive Director. “Targeting laterals in areas where the sewer mains are lined strengthens system reliability and delivers long-term value to our customers.”

To date, NBCMA has secured an extraordinary amount of grant funding and low-interest loans. These investments directly benefit ratepayers by reinvesting in critical infrastructure while keeping rates stable, affordable, and sustainable for the future.
