RICHBORO, PA — The 28th Annual Northampton Day Festival unfolds on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the former Richboro Middle School at 98 Upper Holland Road across the street from the Northampton Library and the Northampton Senior Center.

"We hope to see you on Sunday, October 4 for this fantastic community event," said John Bishop, who detailed the day's events and activities at the September meeting of the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors.

The event kicks off with a flag raising ceremony at 10 a.m. at the STAR Center and continues throughout the day with more than 100 vendors spread out over the parking lot of the school, along with a mouthwatering array of food trucks.

The day will also include appearances by Boomer from the Trenton Thunder, the Northampton Police K9 Unit, and the Northampton Township Fire Department.

"Our raffle pavilion is always a big hit," said Bishop. "We will have raffle baskets from local businesses, sports merchandise and ticket vouchers from area sports teams and some autographed jerseys from Philly sports teams, and much more."

According to Bishop, the event is organized by the nonprofit Northampton Day committee with the goal of furthering community spirit and to provide a showcase for local talent, highlight small business, and offer free family entertainment.

"There's a second very important aspect of our organization - our philanthropic arm," said Bishop. "Each year proceeds from the Northampton Day Festival are directed right back into the community by donations to local nonprofits that support and uplift members of our community most in need. We also provide scholarships to high school seniors who have volunteered at a Northampton Township Parks and Recreation event. In addition, we donate to each PTO of every Council Rock elementary and middle school in the township. We also donated more than $30,000 to local nonprofits."

Handicapped parking will be available at the Northampton Township Senior Center.
