With parking at a premium, this year the event will operate a shuttle bus on a 15-20 minute interval for those who wish to park at Council Rock South High School (front lot). The shuttle will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and go directly from South to the event and back to the school.
For 24 years, it has been the committee's custom to donate excess funds after each festival to local non-profits and for scholarships for two local high school seniors who have donated their time to help with either our event or the Northampton Parks and Recreation Department.
Northampton Township and the Miracle League worked together to rebuild the Blue Playground during the past year making it an all-inclusive place where all kids, no matter their ability, can play together in the same space.
In order to increase the comfort for those at the playground it was decided to partially cover the playground with sun shades.
The Northampton Day Committee provided $19,000 to offset the cost of the recent installation of the sun shades.
"We are so very grateful to the continuing partnership between the Miracle League and Township for their continuing efforts toward improving the opportunities for our special needs community," organizers said.
Sponsors this year include Gasper Landscapes and Team Toyota, McMahon, A Bowman Company, National Maintenance and Buildout Company, B Blair Corp, First National Bank of Newtown, Gilmore & Associates, Jag-One Physical Therapy, Pennoni Associates, Swartz Culleton Law, Time After Time and Twining Construction.
The Northampton Day Committee is comprised of the following members: Mary Anderson, Christine Bishop, John Bishop, Amanda Brady, Jim Brady, Steve Bryer, Ellen Cox, Scott Duretz, Jenny Esposito, Kristina Hartley, Amie Houser, Tom Laskowski, Erik Lehmann, Julie Meister, Pete Palestina and Lindsay Pikovsky.
The committee also thanked the township's first responders and public works departments for helping with the festival each year.
