$500K Grant Awarded To Special Needs Sports And Splash Park In Bucks
State lawmakers recently presented a check in support of the creation of the specialized recreational space in Northampton.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Plans for a new all-inclusive sports and splash park designed for individuals with special needs and their families received a major financial boost thanks to a $500,000 grant from the state.
The funding will support the redevelopment of a 12-acre property at 890 Bridgetown Pike - the former site of the Breezy Point Swim Club - into Playa Raya, an inclusive space that is being designed to provide a safe, accessible place for recreation, connection, and fun for families.
The project is being led by the Friendship Circle Foundation, a division of Lubavitch Bucks County and will include a swimming pool, splash pad, snack stands and basketball and tennis courts.

The three state officials were on hand at the future site of Playa Raya to present the $500,000 check to Rabbi Yudy Shemtov and his team. The presentation marked a significant step in the park's development. Rabbi Shemtov's team is overseeing the project, which will transform the site into a specialized recreational area.
A soft opening is planned this June.
Shemtov expressed optimism about the positive impact the park will have on the community for years to come.
"The park is intended to foster a sense of connection and provide enjoyable activities for its users. The design specifically caters to the needs of its intended users, ensuring accessibility and safety," he said.
