My dog Chance started having seizures on Sunday, February 26th, at around 11:30 at night. He showed no signs of any sickness prior to his first seizure. We rushed him to CARES, an emergency veterinarian hospital, where he had another 3 grand mal seizures along with focal seizures. He stayed over, and was able to come home with us Tuesday night. He was started on anti-convulsion medication, and had 2 more grand mal seizures and focal seizures, but the veterinarians had said he might have some seizures since the medication hadn't been in his bloodstream for long. He seemed to be doing okay for a few days and didn't have any grand mal seizures or focal seizures until tonight, March 5th, when he had a prolonged focal seizure that started at 7:59 pm and didn't end until we arrived at CARES, where they administered medication to stop the seizure. Chance is currently at CARES, where he will stay overnight and have a chest x-ray done to try to figure out the cause of these seizures. Anyone who has ever met Chance knows what a loving dog he is, and the joy he brings into our lives. He is still young and deserves so many more years. It breaks my heart thinking about a world without him, even the nights he spent at CARES were difficult for us. Anything that you can donate will help tremendously, even just sharing this post can have an amazing impact❤ Thank you.
