Police Charge Holland Man with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Traffic Violations
Police reported a disorderly conduct incident with a Holland man in a recent police blotter.

What started as a speeding violation resulted in charges relating to resisting arrest and other related violations after a Holland man failed to comply with police instructions, according to a recent blotter.
Alex Lerner, 39, of Holland will be cited for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and traffic violations after a series of events that took place on Saturday, Aug. 4, Northampton Township police said.
An officer clocked a vehicle traveling 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit on 2nd Street Pike near Twining Ford Road on Aug. 4. The officer then followed the vehicle as it entered a neighborhood and failed to use its turn signals. The vehicle was stopped in the unit block of Yale Drive, police described in the blotter.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver, Lerner, immediately exited his vehicle and started to walk toward the police car. The officer told Lerner to have a seat in his car, but he ignored the command until the officer exited his vehicle and gave the command again.
While this was taking place, an individual—Peter Khodak, 19—from one of the homes on Yale Drive approached Lerner's car, police said. At that time, the officer asked Khodak to back away until the completion of the traffic stop, but Khodak failed to comply with the instructions until he was ordered a second time.

The officer then returned to his vehicle to complete a speeding citation when the Lerner exited his vehicle again, and walked to the trunk of his car. The officer again ordered the driver back into his car. Lerner refused and stated that he did not have to comply and proceeded to open his trunk.
For safety reasons, the officer instructed the driver to place his hands behind his back, but Lerner resisted both physically and verbally. He could not be taken into custody without the assistance of other patrol units that arrived on the scene, the report said.
Khodak was also detained as he stated that he did not have to listen to officers commands. He will be cited for disorderly conduct.
Lerner was trasnported to the Northampton Township Police Department headquarters. He was released after being processes.
